Barnabas took him.
Acts 9:26-27, And when he had come to Jerusalem, he attempted to join the disciples. And they were all afraid of him, for they did not believe that he was a disciple. But Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles and declared to them how on the road he had seen the Lord, who spoke to him, and how at Damascus he had preached boldly in the name of Jesus.
Ananias was the first to obey the Lord, knowing Saul’s reputation as one who killed disciples of Jesus. Now Barnabas takes the risk to declare Saul’s (soon to be know as Paul) authenticity. He lays his own reputation on the line, because he has heard his testimony, how he had seen the Lord and how he had already preached boldly in the name of Jesus. Are we willing to be as bold as Barnabas?
Give us this same boldness, to risk it all for Your name, Lord Jesus!
