With tears.

Philippians 3:18-19, For many, of whom I have often told you and now tell you even with tears, walk as enemies of the cross of Christ. Their end is destruction, their god is their belly, and they glory in their shame, with minds set on earthly things.

We see Paul’s tearful compassion here, the same compassion that Jesus had as He looked out over Jerusalem and mourned over the city, saying how often He would have gathered them to Himself as a mother hen gathers her brood under her wings, but they would not. He wants us to have that same compassion, seeing unbelievers as He does, wanting the best for them. For He is coming one day to “transform our lowly bodies to be like His glorious body,” by the His amazing power. Do we have His compassion for all?

We thank You for Your grace and mercy that shines forth to a hurting world in the gospel; give us Your compassion for others who do not know You!
