Press on.

Philippians 3:13-14, Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

People often criticize believers in Christ as being hypocrites, and rightly so, for we often stumble and fall. The world holds believers in Christ to a higher standard, a standard that no one can meet without Christ. And even after we receive Christ, we still stumble and fall like children learning to walk; but Paul shows us what is important, for we are saved by faith through grace. And when we stumble and fall, as we turn to Him and cry out, confessing our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to forgive us all unrighteousness. To the world this seems like foolishness, but along with Paul we can run the race, and press on to the upward call of Christ Jesus! Are we keeping our eyes on Him today and pressing on toward the goal for the ultimate prize?

Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil as we press on!
