Faith.
James 2:17, So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
James isn’t trying to say that we are justified by our works, but that faith that justifies also transforms. The woman who anointed Jesus was known by her former reputation; Jesus said that her gratefulness in anointing Him would be remembered forever. We are not to be conformed to this world any longer, but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. Does it not follow that someone should see our works bringing glory to God?
We give You thanks that we no longer have to walk in darkness now that we have Your marvelous light!
