For to this end.

1 Timothy 4:10, For to this end we toil and strive, because we have our hope set on the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe.

We can benefit from Paul’s advice to a young preacher, to train ourselves for godliness. Are we really committed to this? Do we treat others as we wish to be treated, are we willing to work hard for His glory? And perhaps even suffer as did Paul and the other early believers? Even now there are those who are sustained by the Lord even though they do not recognize Him. Are we faithful in prayer and in our relationship that God may be glorified?

Guide us in our training in godliness, lead us in Your ways, Lord!
