Go away for the present.

Acts 24:24-26, After some days Felix came with his wife Drusilla, who was Jewish, and he sent for Paul and heard him speak about faith in Christ Jesus. And as he reasoned about righteousness and self-control and the coming judgment, Felix was alarmed and said, “Go away for the present. When I get an opportunity I will summon you.” At the same time he hoped that money would be given him by Paul. So he sent for him often and conversed with him.

Even though Felix had “a rather accurate knowledge of the Way,” he apparently could not believe what Paul told him about Christ Jesus. This should bring great encouragement to us for it’s not about our ability to convince others but it’s about our willingness to share the joy of the good news. It is God who is pleased to open the eyes of those who hear the good news and to bring then into new life. We are just messengers, carrying the light of the good news of Christ!

Give us this same boldness, to bring Your good news even when others become alarmed by Your good news!
