That we might receive the promised Spirit through faith.

Galatians 3:11-14, Now it is evident that no one is justified before God by the law, for “The righteous shall live by faith.” But the law is not of faith, rather “The one who does them shall live by them.” Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us—for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree”— so that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we might receive the promised Spirit through faith.

As Americans, we relate more to the lawless wild wild west than the rule of law. And we know that there is a standard set by the law that, if the truth were known to all, we cannot meet. The good news of Christ is that He has fully met all of the requirements of the law, and has become sin for us that we might become the righteousness of God. All of this obtains to us by faith, through grace. He who had no sin became sin for us, that we might be redeemed. And it doesn’t stop there, for He freely gives His Holy Spirit to all who have received Him by faith, to all who ask! Have you asked Him to give you His Holy Spirit?

Give us Your Holy Spirit, for we need Your blessing today!
