If only I may finish my course.
Acts 20:22-24, And now, behold, I am going to Jerusalem, constrained by the Spirit, not knowing what will happen to me there, except that the Holy Spirit testifies to me in every city that imprisonment and afflictions await me. But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.
Can we be this committed to being led by God, to walk in His ways and be guided by His Spirit? Clearly Paul was willing to set aside his own desires for the purpose that he clearly knew was from God. He was convicted about following his own way and transformed by the Lord into one of the most powerful evangelists. It may be that God wants to use us in that way or perhaps in some other way; have we decided to follow Him and to be led by His Spirit?
Lead and guide us in Your way for Your purpose, O Lord!
