Some became stubborn.
Acts 19:9-10, But when some became stubborn and continued in unbelief, speaking evil of the Way before the congregation, he withdrew from them and took the disciples with him, reasoning daily in the hall of Tyrannus. This continued for two years, so that all the residents of Asia heard the word of the Lord, both Jews and Greeks.
Paul made no modification to the truth that he was preaching to gain wider acceptance. The Lord is the one who adds to the number daily of the church, it’s not by us withholding His truth. As the Word was reviled by stubborn, unbelieving people, Paul withdrew along with those who were faithful to build them up and draw others to hear the word of God! And we know that the Gospel fire continued to spread!
Give us this day our daily bread, for we do not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from Your mouth, O Lord!
