What kind of death He was going to die.
John 18:31-32, Pilate said to them, “Take him yourselves and judge him by your own law.” The Jews said to him, “It is not lawful for us to put anyone to death.” This was to fulfill the word that Jesus had spoken to show by what kind of death he was going to die.
The Jewish rulers did not crucify, Romans did. Jewish law prescribed stoning, not a cross. And Jesus had referenced the cross, as does scripture, that he who hangs on a tree is cursed. Jesus has taken the curse for all who have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. By one man Adam all have come under the curse; how amazing that one man, God in the flesh, Jesus Christ, has removed that curse from all who believer in Him!
To Him be the power and glory and honor forever and ever!
