"For my sake."
Luke 9:23-25, And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it. For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses or forfeits himself?
Jesus has clearly told His disciples what would lie ahead, that He would suffer, be rejected by the religious leaders, and be killed to be raised on the third day. He went and did what the Father showed Him, to bring glory to His name, and He shows us that we, too must be prepared to walk the way of the cross. It’s so easy to be swept up in the cares of the world letting the urgent overshadow the essential, eternal way. What could happen if we determine to lose our lives for His sake?
Guide us as we seek to follow You by taking up our cross daily to bring glory to the Father.
