The unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

1 Corinthians 5:7-8, Cleanse out the old leaven that you may be a new lump, as you really are unleavened. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed. Let us therefore celebrate the festival, not with the old leaven, the leaven of malice and evil, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

We get a picture in this passage of sin, which is like yeast in that a tiny amount can soon permeate a whole batch of bread dough! Paul addresses a particular problem with one person in this passage, but all of us do well to consider how a seemingly tiny amount might permeate our whole being. And we have the wonderful light given us by the Holy Spirit to bring illumination where we need it! Are we willing to ask Him for His light to bring conviction?

Give us Your light, and bring Your conviction that we may clean out the old leaven and bring in sincerity and truth!
