Some were being persuaded.

Acts 28:23-24, And when they had set a day for him, they came to him at his lodging in large numbers; and he was explaining to them by solemnly testifying about the kingdom of God, and trying to persuade them concerning Jesus, from both the Law of Moses and from the Prophets, from morning until evening. And some were being persuaded by the things spoken, but others would not believe.

We see this even today, that some are persuaded by the good news of Jesus Christ and others will not believe. Paul quotes Isaiah in saying that they are deaf and blind, that they hear without understanding. Paul didn’t give up, he kept on preaching the kingdom of God to the Gentiles, to those who would hear and believe. It’s not up to us to figure out who will hear and believe, only to tell others about what He has done!

Heavenly Father, give me boldness to proclaim Your good news as did Paul in his day.
