Felix became frightened.

Acts 24:24-25, But some days later, Felix arrived with Drusilla, his wife who was a Jewess, and sent for Paul, and heard him speak about faith in Christ Jesus. And as he was discussing righteousness, self-control and the judgment to come, Felix became frightened and said, “Go away for the present, and when I find time, I will summon you.”

Felix had some kind of knowledge about the Way, but still could not move beyond fear. Scripture tells us that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and that perfect love casts out fear. Some cannot move beyond being frightened, and some even try to frighten others to manipulate them. Indeed, no one can come unless the Father draws him!

We pray that You will open the hearts of those for whom we pray, that they may receive our Lord Jesus Christ in faith.
