A little leaven.
1 Corinthians 5:6-7, Your boasting is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump of dough? Clean out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, just as you are in fact unleavened. For Christ our Passover also has been sacrificed.
We only read one side of this exchange, but it is enough to know that things really haven't changed much in the past two-thousand years. We see people today who are boasting about things that show a profound disregard for decency. But Paul brings it home as usual, have we really taken responsibility for cleaning up our own dwelling, also called the temple of God?
Show me where I need to clean out the little leaven that could leaven the whole lump in my own life, that I may be a new lump in Christ by the power of His perfect sacrifice.
