Acts 5:40-42, And they took his advice; and after calling the apostles in, they flogged them and ordered them to speak no more in the name of Jesus, and then released them. So they went on their way from the presence of the Council, rejoicing that they had been considered worthy to suffer shame for His name. And every day, in the temple and from house to house, they kept right on teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ.

We are humbled to read this, for in our part of the world we do not face anything like this. Certainly there are places in the world today where this kind of adversity might be found, but not here. We see in scripture that the gospel explode in times where there is great adversity. Are we willing to be faithful in what He calls us to do even without adversity?

We thank You for the freedom we have to spread the gospel; help us to be faithful in and out of adversity!
