I press on.
Philippians 3:13-14, Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
Paul was very clear about his position in Christ, having persecuted the church and been directly called by the Lord Jesus. It’s great to receive this kind of encouragement, for even with that kind of call he had a struggle. The whole idea that he gives us here is to accept that marvelous gift of forgiveness for all of our past and to keep our eyes on "what lies ahead." What does He have in store for us today?
Help us to keep our eyes on You as we reach forward to what lies ahead, Lord Jesus!
