The one who examines me is the Lord.

1 Corinthians 4:4-5, For I am conscious of nothing against myself, yet I am not by this acquitted; but the one who examines me is the Lord. Therefore do not go on passing judgment before the time, but wait until the Lord comes who will both bring to light the things hidden in the darkness and disclose the motives of men’s hearts; and then each man’s praise will come to him from God.

Paul encourages us to be good stewards with all that the Lord has entrusted to us and then reminds us that even a good conscience is not our final authority. As we seek to be better stewards, we can ask Him to reveal anything that may need disclosure for our own hearts. Are we willing to submit to His authority as He reveals these things to us?

Thank You for Your loving-kindness that reveals Your ways to us as we are willing to submit, and as we confess our sins, to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
