Overcome evil with good.
Isaiah 5:15-16, So the common man will be humbled, and the man of importance abased, the eyes of the proud also will be abased. But the Lord of hosts will be exalted in judgment, and the holy God will show Himself holy in righteousness.
The force of evil sometimes seems overpowering. There is always the temptation to “fight fire with fire,” rather than obeying scripture: “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” Perhaps we should begin with righteousness sooner rather than later?
Show us ways to incorporate Your righteousness to bring glory to Your name today, Lord.
