Does the ox know his owner?
Isaiah 1:2-4 (NASB), Listen, O heavens, and hear, O earth; for the Lord speaks, “Sons I have reared and brought up, but they have revolted against Me. An ox knows its owner, and a donkey its master’s manger, but Israel does not know, My people do not understand.” Alas, sinful nation, people weighed down with iniquity, offspring of evildoers, sons who act corruptly! They have abandoned the Lord, they have despised the Holy One of Israel, they have turned away from Him.
Our own country should certainly take note, for indeed most of the founders had a Christian world view and were followers of Christ. Today there is an active campaign to purge from history any vestige of Christian thought or belief, while any other world religion is promoted. We can already see the signs that Isaiah refers to, “people weighted down with iniquity.” Fortunately God is still faithful, He is ready to receive us when we turn to Him!
We pray for revival in our land, for all our hope is in You, Lord. We claim Your promise that if Your people who are “called by Your name” will humbly pray, that You will indeed forgive our sin and heal our land!
