Holy in righteousness.
Isaiah 5:16, But the LORD of hosts will be exalted in judgment, and the holy God will show Himself holy in righteousness.
Admittedly, this not a pleasant topic, as seen by those who select the lectionary verses—this one is “snipped” out. I always have to laugh at this, as if leaving out those verses means that we should not notice them. Indeed, it is painful to recognize that there is a higher standard, that the Lord God Almighty reigns; let us see to it that we hold to His standard of righteousness today. Perhaps He will have mercy upon our nation?
We plead the blood of Jesus Christ upon our nation; bring Your revival in our time, that many will come to know You and be saved from the coming judgment, O Lord! Use me in your plan.
