The righteousness of God
Isaiah 3:10-11, Say to the righteous that it will go well with them, for they will eat the fruit of their actions. Woe to the wicked! It will go badly with him, for what he deserves will be done to him.
Most of us would not have much argument with this, it’s pretty easy to come up with lists. And most people would be quick to place themselves on the “righteous” list, seeing that there are plenty of others deserving to be on the “other” list. Somehow we rationalize our own actions, but in reality scripture tells us that before a Holy God all fall short of His standard. Fortunately we have the opportunity now to claim protection under the blood of Christ, for indeed “He who had no sin became sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God.” What a fearsome thought, to consider those who must come before Him unprotected by the blood of the Lamb.
Let us consider this fear as we meet those who do not know You; show us the fields that are ripe for harvest, that we may lead others to You, Lord.
