"Come now, and let us reason together."
Isaiah 1:18-20, "Come now, and let us reason together," Says the LORD, "Though your sins are as scarlet, they will be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they will be like wool. If you consent and obey, you will eat the best of the land; but if you refuse and rebel, you will be devoured by the sword." Truly, the mouth of the LORD has spoken.
Most of us had a history teacher who began the semester by telling us that the reason for studying history was so that we would not have to repeat it. We have in this book an opportunity to learn from the mistakes of Israel in that day. We won’t necessarily live through all the mistakes that we might make in this life, but fortunately we have the benefit of reading and understanding the word of the Lord. He is not a God of unreason, but of reason and He welcomes us to join Him at His table, to sup with Him. For in the wedding feast of the Lamb of God, He has provided us with the cleansing that we need in order to be fully accepted by Him.
We have at many times rebelled against You and Your way; thank You that You have not given up on us but offer cleansing to us and welcome us to Your feast!
