We endure.
1 Corinthians 9:11-12, If we have sown spiritual things among you, is it too much if we reap material things from you? If others share this rightful claim on you, do not we even more? Nevertheless, we have not made use of this right, but we endure anything rather than put an obstacle in the way of the gospel of Christ.
Paul affirms the right of a vocational calling to those who proclaim the gospel, even though he did not claim that right for himself. Sometimes those in the ministry are viewed as someone not having a “real job.” Judging by my own experiences as a lay pastor, those who choose full-time service are subjected to far more “realism” than most of us ever know. They see things that we never even imagine could happen. Are we faithful in prayer for those who choose to humble themselves, to be servants of all?
We pray for those who are called to full-time service in our church that You will protect them and that we may find ways to encourage them as they deal with difficulties that we will never know about!
