Peter was there.
Acts 9:36, Since Lydda was near Joppa, the disciples, hearing that Peter was there, sent two men to him, urging him, “Please come to us without delay.”
This wonderful miracle, raising Dorcas from the dead, was performed by Peter. It is God’s pleasure as to when and how He will work, and the early believers knew that Peter was vested with this power. While we may long for such demonstrations of the power of God today, it is God who is sovereign. And we also know that in Jesus own home town, He was not able to do many miracles because of their unbelief. How does God want to work in our own day, and do we limit Him by our own unbelief?
Lord, we do believe; help our unbelief!
