Undivided devotion to the Lord.
1 Corinthians 7:35, I say this for your own benefit, not to lay any restraint upon you, but to promote good order and to secure your undivided devotion to the Lord.
Paul lays this out the way he sees it, as unmarried, and perhaps one of those most committed to the Lord and proclaiming His kingdom. And yet in marriage the two become one flesh, so perhaps we can also accomplish things for His kingdom that we could not do alone. Do we have this perspective, to do all that we do as devotion to the Lord?
Show us Your way in our marriage, that we may be devoted to bring glory to Your name, O Lord!
