Who is it that overcomes the world?

1 John 4:1-5, Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God, and everyone who loves the Father loves whoever has been born of him. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and obey his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome. For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

We see in the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, triune God able to express love in their relationship in being true God. And that love overflowed to the whole world in Jesus Christ, to everyone who believe in Him. Even faith itself is the gift of God so that we have nothing to boast about. When we come into His great love, we have the opportunity to express that love in a special way to others who love Him. And we also have opportunity to express His love to a sin sick world, even though that love may be rejected. He who overcame the world and even death itself has put His Spirit within us that we might share His amazing grace and love with others!

Empower us by Your Spirit to love others as You have loved us!
