Walk in the same way in which He walked.
1 John 2:4-6, Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him, but whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may know that we are in him: whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked.
John minces no words in telling us that walking in the light according to His word produces perceptible changes in us. If left to my own devices, I know that I can’t do this. Fortunately the first part of this passage gives us great hope and power, for we have Jesus as our advocate, more than just a cheerleader. He who is righteous is our advocate before the Father, at the throne of grace, and He has put away all the sin that we will give Him!
We need Your strength for this day, to keep Your commandments, to carry Your light, to transform our world in Your name, Jesus!
