Living stones.

1 Peter 2:2-5, Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation— if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good. As you come to him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious, you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

We have the good news in His word, the word that is able to give nourishment to the new life that we have in Christ. And that nourishment is designed to build us up to His purposes. The culture around us may reject us, but in God’s sight we are precious. With others who believe, we are built up into the Lord’s spiritual house to be used for His purposes. What amazing things will He do as we offer our sacrifices to Him?

Use us as Your living stones to accomplish Your purposes in our time, O Lord!
