I will not leave you as orphans.
John 14:15-18, “If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.”
And Peter confirms to us in his first sermon that Jesus did deliver this promise to send us the Holy Spirit, another Helper. That promise is “for you and your children, and all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to Himself!” He is dwelling within us, and even though we may grieve Him, He never gives up on us. Even though we have not the words to pray, He knows how to pray with deep inexpressible groaning in our silence and uncertainty. How amazing is this gift, and available to us just for asking!
Give us Your Holy Spirit in greater measure each day, to help us in our time of need!
