You too will abide in the Son and in the Father.

1 John 2:22-25, Who is the liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, he who denies the Father and the Son. No one who denies the Son has the Father. Whoever confesses the Son has the Father also. Let what you heard from the beginning abide in you. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, then you too will abide in the Son and in the Father. And this is the promise that he made to us—eternal life.

John reports that even in his day, there were many antichrists who had gone out from them, denying the reality of Jesus Christ, Son of God the Father. We who confess Christ have the Father also and we are sealed by the Holy Spirit, delivered from sin and abiding in them. Those who deny the only begotten Son also deny the Father; Jesus is clear that He is the way the truth and the life and no one comes to the Father but by Him. Our part in all of this is that we who were dead in sin and trespasses, we who were unable to do anything to save ourselves have been born again, raised up to new life in Christ! He has a purpose for us that brings glory to His name, that we shall be with Him for all eternity!
