And he invited Philip.

Acts 8:29-31, And the Spirit said to Philip, "Go up and join this chariot." And when Philip had run up, he heard him reading Isaiah the prophet, and said, "Do you understand what you are reading?" And he said, "Well, how could I, unless someone guides me?" And he invited Philip to come up and sit with him.

The word "evangelize" evokes some unpleasant images; the word itself comes from "good news" in Greek, and before that evangelos, as in bringing good news. Somehow the good news and angelic connection is often missed. Philip had boldness, and he also had respect and waited to be invited. The Holy Spirit was his guide through an angel who directed him to this man in the chariot, and enabled him to show the eunuch to the good news. There are many who hear the scripture read, and many of them do not understand. Perhaps He will send a messenger to guide us to one of those people today?

Guide me to those who are hungry for Your word and seeking someone to guide them to Your good news, Father!
