But they did not understand.
Acts 7:24-25, "And when he saw one of them being treated unjustly, he defended him and took vengeance for the oppressed by striking down the Egyptian. And he supposed that his brethren understood that God was granting them deliverance through him; but they did not understand."
"Vengeance is Mine, saith the Lord, I shall repay." It’s easy to make the mistake that Moses made that resulted in his forty years of isolation. He surely knew that he was in the position of deliverer, but he put himself in God’s place, the only true deliverer. Am I willing to wait upon the Lord?
Lord, restrain me, for it is far too easy for me to think that I am the deliverer! Only You can deliver us from the bondage of sin and death, come, Lord Jesus!
