Worthy to suffer shame for His name.

Acts 5:40-42, And they took his advice; and after calling the apostles in, they flogged them and ordered them to speak no more in the name of Jesus, and then released them. So they went on their way from the presence of the Council, rejoicing that they had been considered worthy to suffer shame for His name. And every day, in the temple and from house to house, they kept right on teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ.

I don’t really think like this, I like to preserve my rights, and I don’t like to be made a fool. And I can’t even imagine what it would be like to be flogged for my faith, much less threatened with death! What if we could speak today with such boldness? Whose lives might be changed as in these days of the early church? Am I willing to risk it all for Him?

Give us Your boldness, that others may come to know You, Lord!
