Reply with discretion and discernment.
Daniel 2:13-16, So the decree went forth that the wise men should be slain; and they looked for Daniel and his friends to kill them. Then Daniel replied with discretion and discernment to Arioch, the captain of the king's bodyguard, who had gone forth to slay the wise men of Babylon; he answered and said to Arioch, the king’s commander, "For what reason is the decree from the king so urgent?" Then Arioch informed Daniel about the matter. So Daniel went in and requested of the king that he would give him time, in order that he might declare the interpretation to the king.
I’m not sure that I would have the faith of Daniel, to seek out the one sent out to kill me. Of course Daniel's faith was not in himself, but in the Lord. He didn't have all the answers, but he had faith in the One who knew not only the interpretation of the dream, but the dream itself. Can we look beyond ourselves to the One who holds the answers?
We know that we do not have all the answers; we must look to You, for Your discretion and discernment into every situation, no matter how dire.
