Can these bones live?

Ezekiel 37:3, And He said to me, "Son of man, can these bones live?" And I answered, "O Lord GOD, Thou knowest."

We would do well to learn from Ezekiel that God asks questions of us with a purpose. In the wisdom of the world, the valley of dry bones is at worst a symbol of massive death, perhaps something to be studied by scientists. Some might see only the possibility for fertilizer, but our God sees in it the potential for resurrection and new life. So, when we have our own internal perception of that valley of dry bones, we can look to Him for the unlimited possibilities of resurrection life!

Even when there is nothing left but dry bones, we know that You are the God of hope! Breathe upon us, O Lord.
