Why has the way of the wicked prospered?

Jeremiah 12:1-2, Righteous art Thou, O LORD, that I would plead my case with Thee; indeed I would discuss matters of justice with Thee: why has the way of the wicked prospered? Why are all those who deal in treachery at ease? Thou hast planted them, they have also taken root; they grow, they have even produced fruit. Thou art near to their lips but far from their mind.

Truly, there is nothing new under the sun, Jeremiah could be writing this in our own time. In our own country, there are those who would rewrite history, taking away the very foundations upon which our country was established. Even in churches there are those who have turned away from the Lord, from the truth of scripture and the amazing truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ. In the face of all this, He asks us to be faithful to do what He calls us to do, to be His witnesses, to bring the light of Christ into those places where we have access. How wonderful that He is ready to use us right where He has planted us!
