Leave the stump.
Daniel 4:26-27, "'And in that it was commanded to leave the stump with the roots of the tree, your kingdom will be assured to you after you recognize that it is Heaven that rules. Therefore, O king, may my advice be pleasing to you: break away now from your sins by doing righteousness, and from your iniquities by showing mercy to the poor, in case there may be a prolonging of your prosperity.'"
Daniel recognized the serious nature of the king's dream, perhaps even more than did the king. And along with that, he recognized the graciousness of God, in that He planned to "leave the stump." Daniel offered up the best advice to any of us, to "break away," to turn to the one true living God who is always seeking to show His great mercy and grace. He has showed us His amazing grace by sending His Son, to take the full weight of the sin of the world, that we might be saved by His amazing grace, through faith.
We who have turned in faith to You, who are saved by Your grace, pray for others to know You as Lord and Savior, to accept Your amazing gift of salvation by faith in Jesus Christ.
