His kingdom will endure forever.

Daniel 2:44-45, "And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which will never be destroyed, and that kingdom will not be left for another people; it will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, but it will itself endure forever. Inasmuch as you saw that a stone was cut out of the mountain without hands and that it crushed the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver, and the gold, the great God has made known to the king what will take place in the future; so the dream is true, and its interpretation is trustworthy."

What a perspective of our Lord's divine kingdom that shall have no end, delivered through a dream to a foreign king, so long ago. We need this perspective, with the things that are happening in the world today. I'm sure that the first century Christians needed it even more, with the persecution and martyrdom that they experienced. Despite the efforts of many to crush this kingdom of God over the past two thousand years, it is indeed enduring and flourishing even in places of heavy repression. And we know that the real King of Kings will one day return to reign and rule forever, with truth and justice.

We thank You for the strength You give us to persevere, for we know that Your kingdom will endure forever!
