He is able to humble those who walk in pride.

Daniel 4:30-31,37, "The king reflected and said, 'Is this not Babylon the great, which I myself have built as a royal residence by the might of my power and for the glory of my majesty?' While the word was in the king’s mouth, a voice came from heaven, saying, 'King Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is declared: sovereignty has been removed from you…'" v. 37, "Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise, exalt, and honor the King of heaven, for all His works are true and His ways just, and He is able to humble those who walk in pride."

It took a year after Daniel's interpretation of the dream, and his plea to the king to turn to the Lord for the dream to be fulfilled. We all have such grandiose thoughts from time to time, especially when things are going well. It's all too easy to forget that it is the Lord who has given us the ability to do everything we do, even to make a living. How much better it is to join with this king in offering up praise and honor to the One who has given us so many blessings.

Thank You for this reminder to walk humbly; we praise You for all Your blessings, especially our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
