Giving Him a hearing.
John 7:50-52, Nicodemus, who had gone to him before, and who was one of them, said to them, “Does our law judge a man without first giving him a hearing and learning what he does?” They replied, “Are you from Galilee too? Search and see that no prophet arises from Galilee.”
The rulers were not interested in finding out the facts regarding Jesus, for while it was true that He grew up in Galilee, they did not know that His birthplace perfectly fit the description of the prophets. How easy it is for us to be blinded to the truth by the world, the flesh and the enemy. How much better that we pray for the eyes of our heart to be enlightened, that we may know the riches of His inheritance, and His immeasurable power opened to us!
Open our eyes, Lord; we want to see Jesus. Illuminate our way and empower us today!
