"But who do you say that I am?"

Mark 8:29-30, And he asked them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter answered him, “You are the Christ.” And he strictly charged them to tell no one about him.

Jesus has just sent the blind man home, charging him not to even enter the village. And now, he tells His own disciples not to tell anyone about Him, for His time has not yet come. Today, we are not under that charge, and there are many who want to give out a rule book or condemn the behavior of other in His name which does not sound like good news. Many people think that Jesus was a great teacher, a prophet, an example, a preacher and a miracle worker, and so He was. But how many recognize Him for who He says He is, the Christ, the only begotten Son of God? And how many who have received Him will allow Him to transform us, that we may do the good works that He has for us? How many of us will let his light shine that others will see our good works and give glory to God?

Give us the same spirit of humility that Christ had, and let our light so shine before others, so that they may see our good works and give glory to our Father who is in heaven!
