The food that endures to eternal life.
John 6:26-27, Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, you are seeking me, not because you saw signs, but because you ate your fill of the loaves. Do not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you. For on him God the Father has set his seal.”
There are false teachers even today who say that if you come to Jesus all your troubles will end, you will be healthy, wealthy and wise. Jesus said that in this world we will have trouble, but we are to fear not, for He will be with us to the end of the age. Tell that to the eleven faithful Apostles and the Apostle Paul who, like Jesus, had no place to lay their head and all but one martyred. Instead He calls us to lay up treasure in heaven, for where your treasure is there will your heart be also!
Give us this day our daily bread, for we do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes out of the mouth of God. Breathe on us O breath of God!
