“I can do nothing on my own.”
John 5:30, “I can do nothing on my own. As I hear, I judge, and my judgment is just, because I seek not my own will but the will of him who sent me.”
This is Jesus speaking; He did all that He saw the Father doing. So why is it that I think I can function on my own? Whose will am I seeking? If the Son of God needed this kind of intimacy with the Father, how much more do I need it?
O Lord, we know that You are not very far from every one of us; may I seek Your will and turn to Your face at every moment today, to bring glory to Your Holy name!
