Whoever.
John 6:56, Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him.
These words of Jesus are as shocking, absurd and insane today as they were in His own day. It obviously means far more than the strict literal interpretation, but it implies that He would be giving up His own life infuse it in all who receive Him. Those who sought to destroy Him stopped at being disgusted; those who had received Him knew that His meaning went far beyond our limited temporal life. And in fact He goes on to say that without nourishing ourselves on Him we have no life within us, but with His nourishment we will live forever! Do I hunger and thirst after Him?
Feed us with Your bread of heaven, let us drink from Your cup that we may be infused with Your life!
