The Lord is compassionate and merciful.
James 5:10-11, As an example of suffering and patience, brothers, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. Behold, we consider those blessed who remained steadfast. You have heard of the steadfastness of Job, and you have seen the purpose of the Lord, how the Lord is compassionate and merciful.
One of my former teachers once noted that you find prophets mostly in cemeteries and insane asylums! The prophets of old, who spoke the truth in love, were not often well received. Today truth is viewed as what is convenient or brings happiness or pleasure to each individual. God’s truth never changes, and fortunately He is compassionate and merciful, giving us time to find Him, and to know the truth that sets us free. The exciting part is that He is not very far from every one of us! Why not reach out to Him in a time that He may be found?
We thank You that You have not abandoned us to death, but have given us Your new life in Christ!
