The fullness of time.

Galatians 4:4-6, But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!”

Paul speaks of bondage to the elementary principles of the world, godless philosophy and so-called worldly wisdom, that could never imagine Emmanuel, God with us. How amazing is the grace of God who determined that He would not abandon us as we have abandoned Him, and at the right time sent us His Son. He came not as a reigning King to worldly kings, but to shepherds, to a manger, “no crib for Hid bed.” He laid aside His glory and took on flesh to humbly walk as the Holy Spirit and God the Father moved Him. And as we receive Him as risen King, He offers us that same Holy Spirit to guide our steps in humbly serving Him!

“Guide me O thou great Jehovah, Pilgrim through this barren land. I am weak but Thou art mighty, hold me with Thy pow’rful hand. Bread of heaven, Bread of heaven, feed me till I want no more...”
