Worshiping the Lord and fasting.
Acts 13:2-3, While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” Then after fasting and praying they laid their hands on them and sent them off.
We marvel at the way the Lord was moving through the believers in the book of Acts by the power of the Holy Spirit. Might it be that worship and fasting were more the norm? Perhaps we are missing out on many things that the Holy Spirit wants for us to do because we are more focused on where we are going to eat after the worship. I know that it’s easier for me to eat a good meal than to fast and worship! What could happen if we took time to break away from the routine and worshipped and fasted before the Lord?
Give us the courage to worship You in spirit and in truth, let not the noise of our busy lives drown your voice out!
