Saul increased all the more in strength.

Acts 9:19b-22, For some days he was with the disciples at Damascus. And immediately he proclaimed Jesus in the synagogues, saying, “He is the Son of God.” And all who heard him were amazed and said, “Is not this the man who made havoc in Jerusalem of those who called upon this name? And has he not come here for this purpose, to bring them bound before the chief priests?” But Saul increased all the more in strength, and confounded the Jews who lived in Damascus by proving that Jesus was the Christ.

Saul immediately set about proclaiming the name of Jesus, and declaring that He is the risen Son of God to the amazement of all. Those who were believers were often still afraid of his reputation, and those who opposed him soon sought to bring his life to an end. Even as his strength increased, so did opposition ultimately requiring him to be secretly let down the city wall at night in a basket! Are we willing to increase in strength for the Lord even if it may mean such opposition?

Give us strength and courage to boldly proclaim Your name even in the face of opposition!
