Do you understand?

Acts 8:30-31, So Philip ran to him and heard him reading Isaiah the prophet and asked, “Do you understand what you are reading?” And he said, “How can I, unless someone guides me?” And he invited Philip to come up and sit with him.

We see Philip used in bringing the Ethiopian eunuch to faith by guiding him through the scriptures from the prophet Isaiah that are fulfilled by Jesus. He was willing to go when the angel of the Lord asked him, and was bold enough to ask if the eunuch understood what he was reading. And Philip was prepared with the knowledge that Jesus fulfills that prophecy, and told the eunuch the good news. Are we likewise prepared, willing to go and asking for the boldness to share the good news?

Give us ears to hear, and energy to go, and wisdom to listen that we may gain the opportunity to boldly share the good news of Jesus with others!
